The Card for Libra Season ♎

Today the sun moves into Libra ♎️, marking the Fall Equinox. The tarot card ruled by Libra is Justice. Just like Libra, Justice calls in karmic balance into our lives.

When we're born into this world with a minority identity, particularly a Black minority identity, the idea of karmic justice can seem illusive. How many injustices have Black people endured without our due reparations?

Enslavement, Jim Crow laws, lynching, redlining, racist policing and mass incarceration -- just to name very few in an infinite list of wrongs.

When we pull the Justice card, we can meditate on these macro injustices, then bring them down to the micro of our own personal experience for healing and liberation.

We can ask our tarot decks, "How can I live with more freedom than my ancestors got to enjoy?" This question empowers us to create justice for our lineages by adding our own liberation to Justice's scales.

We can ask our tarot decks, "How can I balance my righteous anger at the injustices my people have endured with sacred joy in my life?" This question acknowledges our pain while recognizing our liberation is also linked to our right to experience pleasurable emotion in this world.

We can ask our tarot decks, "How can I create hope for a more just future for me and for others?" This question invites us to take our power back and to co-create justice with The Universe.

In the Justice tarot card, the person holds a sword. This sword is the ace of swords in the tarot, which represents truth. When asking your deck the questions above, the key is to trust that the answers you intuit are truth. Just like the person in the card, you do have the power to create more justice in this world, and tarot can help guide you on your way.
